“Merry” and Bright Holiday Living Room Tour

What would I do without the holiday season? I swear I adore decorating for it all, and I tend to have vintage pieces catch my eye throughout the year that I end up collecting and forgetting about, and then finding at the last minute to decorate with. It’s a crazy game, but I love it! This year our living room got a simple holiday update, with vintage pieces mixed with new, adorning our coffee table and sprinkled about our built-in.
We recently picked up these letter from Hobby Lobby, which I intended to place over my stove on the kitchen hood, but when I did, and my six year old son was trying to sound out the word, and he was saying Mmm-Ffff-Rrrr..I knew the placement was all wrong. Haha! But, the idea was so fun that I had to find a new place for them, and since I hate that the TV is such an eyesore, I figured I’d draw attention away from it with the letters. I love it!
Cozy is all I could think of when I was deciding how I wanted to overall space to feel. After all, we do get some cold days here in Texas, just not that many, and I want to take advantage of those rare days when I can sit on the couch, cover up with a nice chunky warm blanket and enjoy the company of my family or if I’m alone, the TV. I really wanted the whole space to be a place where my family can enjoy it without worrying about this or that decoration being in the way. For a long time now, simplicity has been calling my name, and I’ve been trying to find it in a way that satisfies my over-the-top vision ways. I think this worked!

Everything is so beautiful! 😍 I love the tassels in the tree. The sofa looks so cozy with those plush pillows. I’ll have to make the day trip out to our nearest hobby lobby to grab those letters!
