Woohoo! It’s time again for another “Shop With Me!”, but this time, instead of bringing you my normal idea board I’ve joined up with Wayfair.com to bring you some great ideas to refresh your bedroom in the new year. I’m not sure about you, but our bedroom seems to be the last room in our home to get much attention. It was only mid-late last year that I started to really think about refreshing the space to create a more serene setting, and one that reflected our personal style. That’s THREE years from the date we moved in! Crazy stuff!
If you’ve been following me for a while now you probably know I naturally gravitate towards a “beachy” looking space, although my love for glam, and classic pieces never seem to escape the spaces I decorate. Here I’ve put together a great mix of furniture and decor items to give you just that. A Classic-Beachy-Glam bedroom! That may not be the bedroom of your dreams, but even taking these pieces individually you could incorporate them into many different styles.
For instance, I could easily switch out my tufted bed, for this four poster bed, and never have to touch the rest of my bedroom to make it work. You wanna know something funny? If you had asked me if I would ever want a four poster bed before I would have replied with a resounding, “No Way!”, (crazy, I know) but I’ve seen them used recently, by a few of my favorite designers, and have fallen in love with how well they work in modern settings!
I also used to be under the impression that all wood tones had to match in a space. Well, I’m glad I learned that isn’t necessarily so. Mixing wood tones actually adds dimension to a space! Something I wouldn’t have ever believed, unless I had experienced it for myself. So here I have chosen three different tones of wood in the bed, chair, and dresser (although the dresser looks to be a washed gray color). I wanted to create a sense of airiness throughout the space, so I chose to keep them in the light wood tone family.
Using neutrals, like white bedding and a light upholstered chair keeps the space spa like, which is always nice since the word alone brings up thoughts of relaxation. Just think how you’d feel in this space. Plus, if you ever get bored with the neutrals, they act as the perfect backdrop for accent colors, which you could bring in using accent pillows, throws, and even new patterned bedding.
Mixing in glass/metallic furniture and decor, such as the small side table and round mirror add a touch of glam to the space, and let’s not forget that gorgeous chandelier! Wow! A chandelier like that for under $200 is hard to find!
The rag rug, with its mix of colors adds a nice modern spin to the space. I almost didn’t keep it in my mood board, but something kept nagging me in the back of my mind as I was looking for a different option. That usually means, that I really do like it, it’s just a tad bit out of my comfort zone which makes me nervous about adding it in. So, I’m trusting my gut, and leaving it in for you. If you aren’t digging it though, I suggest a nice jute rug instead.
And finally, the accessories! The art print reminds me of the ever so popular Eskayal wallpaper. If you are like me, and don’t really want to commit to a wallpaper, I think this print is a great alternative. Add in a few decorative baskets, glass table lamps, and a nice little floral arrangement, and your space is complete!
I hope you like the items I chose for this bedroom! To shop, simple click on the pictures below to take you to each item, or if you’d like to be taken to the entire set of products, click the image above to be taken to my Wayfair Idea Board.
