A “Haunted” Halloween Home Decorating Tour
Happy Halloween, friends!
I couldn’t go the whole season of Halloween, without sharing our interior decorations with you all, now could I? The idea for a “haunted” home, including a ghostly Lady in White, came to me during the summer. With a little effort, she came out exactly as I had dreamed her up to. She really is haunting! We walk past most days without noticing, but every once in a while I forget she’s there, and get a jolt of adrenaline when I catch her in my peripheral. Ha!
I had looked for something similar that was already made, but I couldn’t come across anything that wasn’t gory, or off-putting, so I made my own. She came together using a dress form, long white haired wig, white chiffon dress, and a white tulle cloak for an ethereal specter look, to finish.
The rest of the space is decorated using plastic spiders, and gauze made to look like webs, as well as tattered fabric. Gauze, or cheesecloth can be used in so many ways. In this space it doubles as old tattered cloth hanging from the fixtures, bookcases, and mirror, as well as being shaped into spooky spiderwebs, on the art, coffee table, and around the TV. I added a few black birds to the mix, as an extra element. In this case, less is more, so the whole look didn’t cost much to pull together. I hope you like it all!
Stay tuned for a look at our Christmas holiday decorations that will be going up soon. I need the holiday cheer around here, to brighten up my mood, so it’s going up early. How about you? Starting soon too? Let me know!
