A Very Merry Christmas Living Room
Happy Holidays, friends! I hope you’re enjoying yourself, wherever you are, and whatever you are doing. We’re enjoying this time of year as a family, spending time at home, decorating, lounging around, watching movies, playing games, and pretty much just enjoying each other’s company. I always look forward to this time of the year!
We’ve managed to put up all the decor we plan to for Christmas, so I thought I pop in and share a bit of it here on the blog. Today is the living room, and hopefully soon, I’ll share the dining room. We’re still recovering from the Thanksgiving holiday around here. With all of us home, it turned into a tornado of each of our things laying about, so it’s cleanup time for me! A freshly clean room is the biggest present I could get this season. I mean it!
We pulled out our beautiful Balsam Hill tree, and filled it with hundreds of metallic, wooden, and glitter ornaments. Add a bit of tinsel, a shiny silver star, a tree collar, and we have one of my most favorite trees to date! We’ve hidden a few special ornaments throughout to make it even more precious to us.
I didn’t want everything to be metallic throughout the living room, so I complemented the beautiful tree with simple decorations throughout, some with a bit of color, like the pillows, throws, and the advent calendar garland on the fireplace.
I filled the builtin shelves with winter greenery and some simple little bottle brush trees, to bring it into the season. It’s so cute, and after Christmas is over, I can pull the little trees out and leave the rest up until spring.
To pull the metallic colors across the living room, I used some of my brass and black candlesticks, along the fireplace. A mixture of two different candles gives it depth and keeps the eye moving across.
To pull the color over to the tree, I picked up some striped wrapping paper in red and black, and incorporated a couple of fun graphic papers as well.
Thanks for stopping by and touring the living room with us today! I hope you enjoyed it, and enjoy the rest of this season!
