Coffee Table Styling with a Nod to Romance
It come without saying that during the month of February you’ll be seeing a bunch of “romantic” type imaging, but I hate to pigeon hole the style to a month. Instead of “Valentine’s Day” styling I prefer to give a nod to the holiday by adding a few romantic elements into my styling that can last beyond the big day. Take our coffee table for example.
I started off with everyday coffee table styling components. A couple stacks of coffee table books work here since the table is long. The tray holds a few more books and to add height I chose to display a marble decor piece inside the tray, as well as a couple of vintage bells on top of a stack of books.
For this particular style, the floral arrangement is the star. Typically I enjoy a real flower over faux, but the longevity of faux florals is enticing, as they are so much easier to manage. Especially if you want to set it and forget it! I had a few faux floral sprays on hand that I used to create a small floral arrangement for the coffee table. The planter I chose to display it in complements the arrangement so well! I especially enjoy the patina that has formed on it over the years. I like to find vessels at antique shops for this reason. You get so much life and character when you do.
Candles are another romantic element to style with. Here I used one short pillar displayed on a brass plate, because I wanted an understated look, but you could always flip the “star” styling piece and display more candles, with a smaller floral element instead. Don’t forget your candle accessories! Just one will work. Here I chose a small jar of matches.
Finally, I chose to display a small heart shaped trinket dish with a strand of beads. This doesn’t have to be so on the nose in your styling, but why not! Have fun!
Here it is, all pulled together. What do you think? Will you incorporate these “romantic” styling tips into your decor this year?
Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
