Dining Room-Coffee Bar: One Room Challenge (Week 3)
Welcome friends, to week three of the 2020 Fall One Room Challenge! We’ve been busy working on the build of our coffee bar, and we’re pretty far along! If you aren’t following me on Instagram yet, be sure to look me up, and check my ORC highlight to see how it progressed over the last week.
Here is where we are at today!
We actually took Tuesday off to work on a few other things around the house, and to rest a bit. It was a much needed break, since we have been working on it all week! That’s the thing about these challenges. You can run yourself into the ground, which I’ve never found healthy, or you can respect yourself, realize it’s just that, a challenge, and put your physical and mental health first.
Now that the build is getting close to complete, we need to get serious about choosing a paint color for it.
I had a few colors in mind, so we went to Lowes and picked up some samples to test out. From top to bottom they are, SW 9584-Mortar, SW 9586-White Sesame, SW 7542-Naturel. I was hoping that Naturel would be the color we chose, but it turns out it’s much darker than we anticipated. Mortar is very pretty, but a bit cooler than we had hoped for, so that left us with White Sesame. I wasn’t completely sold though. I wanted to test it out against another color we’ve recently used in our home, to see if I wanted to continue it on into the dining room, or start with a whole new complementary pallet.
On the left is SW 9586-White Sesame, and the right is SW 7011-Natural Choice. We will be painting our kitchen cabinets again soon, and considering the new build is open to the kitchen we want to make sure the colors we choose flow together. I have to say, I love them both, and it’s hard to choose, but we have made a decision to use….
I’m going to leave you hanging until next week to find out what color we chose, but I’m sure I’ll reveal it on my Instagram account before then, so if you’re curious, I’d follow along there.
That’s all for this week, friends! Thanks for stopping by, and please be sure to visit the One Room Challenge site to see the other participant’s progress.
Take care!
