Fun Little DIY Valentine’s Day Gifts
I can bet, like me, you find the Target Dollar Spot irresistible. Each time I go to Target, I find myself in that section browsing the most recently stocked items. I found this cute little galvanized mailbox, along with some ribbon and heart-shaped suckers, and brought them home knowing I would find something to do with them for Valentine’s Day. They’ve been sitting on my kitchen counter for a couple of weeks now, so when I woke up this morning and started to make breakfast they caught my eye, and I figured it was time to do something with them.
I took the ribbon and wrapped it around the mailbox. I secured it with a dab of hot glue. That means I can easily remove it if I want to use the mailbox for something else in the future. Something tells me I will be doing just that, because it’s adorable! I took some red and white scraps of felt and cut out an envelope and heart. To make it simple I hot glued them together as well. Since I had the suckers I placed them inside as the gift, but you could put any number of things inside the mailbox. Such a fun way to wrap a gift, don’t you think?
I had this little jar left over from Christmas that I purchased from Michael’s for under $3 on sale. I thought it would be cute to wrap a band of gold metallic Washi Tape around the bottom for a bit of a glam effect. I arranged the suckers into a bouquet and secured them with another band of Washi tape. I just love the outcome! It’s simple, cute as can be, and can be used far after Valentine’s Day. What do you think?
These could be fun gifts for teachers, grandparents, well anyone really! I hope you like them, and maybe use the idea for yourself! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi, these are so darling and I love the Dollar Spot too. It’s such a great idea to add some of their items for your own sweet charm. So many times we think it needs to be a big huge new project and these are darling. Coming over from the Something to Talk About Link Party and of course please join us tomorrow morning at 6 am est too. Happy Sunday, Lisa at Concord Cottage.

Thank you Lisa! Yes, I have fallen victim to spending too much on a project, or gift, without putting much thought into how I could accomplish something simple and nice, on a smaller budget. I appreciate you visiting and commenting, today. Sorry I missed the link up this week, but I have a new project I’m sure to link up next week. Have a great day!

Iris, I totally understand what you mean because those little bins at Target get me every time. I swear I’m going to run in and only grab what I need and 45 minutes later I’ve upgraded from a basket to a buggy and I’m finally checking out. ha ha. I love how you’ve made a thoughtful and inexpensive gift all at the same time. I know several people that would be excited to receive something so cute. Hugs, CoCo

Thank you so much Coco! I just can’t resist that space! It the dollar spot first, on to the dishes, and then to the home/home décor section. By that time, I have forgotten what I was going in for in the first place! LOL! I’m so glad you liked these ideas. I wasn’t going to share them, but then I thought to myself, “Why not?!”. I’m so glad I ended up doing it! Have a wonderful day sweet friend! 🙂
