Happy Anniversary/4th of July/Birthday!
Whew! The last week of June, and the first week of July are busy ones for us around here! Like the title says, we celebrate a wedding anniversary, Independence Day, and my Birthday, and that’s just our immediate family. I have many cousins, aunts and uncles celebrating anniversaries and birthdays too!
I figured I’d share a look at what we did on the 4th here at home. These days are truly about appreciating what is going on around you and what you have control over, so for the 4th we put together a little outdoor BBQ celebration, and enjoyed some fun in the sun with water guns and sitting in the water. Note, sitting in the water equals sitting in a small child sized pool filled to the brim, and loving every second of it. You’ve gotta take what you can get!
Instead of ordering or going out to the store for supplies we used what we have on hand, and luckily I picked up some cute plates last year from the Target/Hearth & Hand line that were perfect for our little celebration! I always have striped napkis on hand, because I love them, so that was an easy choice, and as luck would have it, I had a banner that we didn’t use last summer sitting in my office taking up space, that I used as a decorative runner down the table. A few bunces of faux hydrangias in a vase, and we had ourselves a festive centerpiece. Seriously, my old self would have felt like it wasn’t enough, but I’ve grown past the more is better phase, so I really like what we ended up with. I guess my whole point is that if you like it, then whatever it is will evoke joy, and that’s all that matters. Love the place you are in!
I hope you are all well!
Thanks for stopping by!
