New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge Update
It’s week four of the challenge, and with only one week until the big reveal of all of our spaces, I’m in a hurry to tie up loose ends and get our guest bedroom ready for photos.
In my post last week, I spoke about adding a console to the room. One we already owned, and one that I think could work as storage in the space as well. My only concern was that it was going to feel too big in the space, but I’m happy to report that it does in fact fit nicely.
We installed the light, but ran into a little issue. Nothing to do with wiring thankfully, and we think we can fix the issue once we order the piece we think will work. We’re going to leave it as it is now, since the issue is most obvious near the ceiling, so it will be shared in our big reveal post, next week.
Baseboards have been cut, and brought into the room. We need to nail them in, and caulk and paint, so I’ll be working on that over the next few days. I’ve considered painting the doors as well, and am going back and forth with the ideas of painting the trim a contrasting color, or painting it the same color as the wall. You’ll know my choice next week!
I also purchased a few art downloads from an Etsy vendor, and had them printed using Walgreens Photo. They had a great sale this past week, and I think it’s still going on this week, so if you need anything printed, now is the time!
Well, friends, that about it for this post. I wish I had more to share, but again, we’re coming down to the wire, and I’m in a hurry to finish. I’m sure the rest of the New Year, New Room Challenge participants have plenty to share in their posts this week. I’m excited to see, myself!
