Quick Change Fall-Halloween Wreath
I haven’t made a wreath in quite some time, so it was nice to revisit the craft for a Halloween challenge I’m participating in this week. The week long challenge, called THRIFT-O-WEEN, is hosted by my friend Jessica of Domicile37. I invite you to check it out on my Instagram profile. You’ll see Halloween thrift hauls, DIY’s, Decorating, Tablescapes, and more! I’m honored to be a part of the group. Everyone is so talented!
This particular challenge was to DIY something from a thrifted item. It just so happens that I came upon this grapevine wreath at the thrift store a couple of months ago, and when I saw it I just felt like it would come in handy one day, so I purchased it. Come in handy it has!
To create this look, I took a few sprigs of dried florals, and created a small floral pick to attach to the wreath. I did this using a craft floral stem, wrapping it around the spray and wreath. This allows me to easily change the style of the wreath in the future if I choose to, by unwinding the stem and removing the pic. If you want a more permanent option, hot glue and wire combined will do the trick. I wanted to add a ribbon element to the wreath, so I made a long, skinny bow out of this green and white gingham ribbon.
If you want, you can stop here and display it for fall, but if you want an added spooky factor for Halloween, a small faux crow affixed to the inner bottom of the wreath transforms the wreath perfectly. This particular crow has two small wires attached to its feet, so I wove the wires through the wreath to attach it. Again, hot glue would be a more permanent option if desired.
That’s it! A simple two-for-one fall wreath. I hope you enjoy it, and if you’d like, I have a Reel on my Instagram page for you to watch.
Enjoy!
