New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge-A Multi-functional Bonus Room
Happy New Year, friends! We’re starting off the year like many of the past, by participating in the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge, hosted by my sweet and talented friend, Stephanie Watkins of Casa Watkins Living.
Since finding your personal home style can take time, in my case, it is ever evolving, I find that over the years many spaces that I felt were “finished” were only so for a short time. One such space is our family bonus room . You can see what it looked like before, here in a past makeover post. We’ve slowly been making this space over, and it has yet to be finished, so I know this is the perfect room to share with y’all for this challenge. I’ve had time to think about each decision, and I am sure that it’ll translate into a more informative and resourceful post series.
Some of my favorite designers are the Studio McGee team, as well as Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors. I love how they each have a distinct design voice within a mass of designers. I’ve also been following them for years, and appreciate how they’ve handled success with a humble attitude and are motivated to continue to improve in their craft as their companies grow. Each project they share has bits an pieces of it that speak directly to my design-loving soul. To break it down, I find Studio McGee’s classic and clean design style is a huge draw, while Amber Lewis’ eclectic and vintage style inspires me to push the boundaries of my safe zone (classic). Here are some of the projects that have inspired our bonus room makeover.
Aren’t they beautiful? How can you not be inspired by these spaces! As I said above, we’ve been working on the space for a while. We’ve got a lot of the major elements already in place, and truly it’s down to the finishing touches for us, but I will be sharing the entire process with y’all despite our current position. Some of y’all know that this past year has been such a roller coaster ride for me, which is why I’ve blogged less and participated in less group projects, but I’m pulling myself together despite it all. I’m finding strength in my family, friends, and in my love to express my talents, to push past it all and get back to “normal”. This project is just part of the new big start of 2019, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to participate with so many of my blogging friends. Please scroll down to see who else is participating with us!
Here’s a quick rundown of the plan for the space…..
Let’s catch up more next week, shall we? I’ll have links to products and even more info into the process of making over this room. In the mean-time, if you are planing a room makeover of your own, we’d love for you to join in on the fun with us via our linkup. Just click the link below to join!
