New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge-A Multi-functional Bonus Room (Week 3)

Wow, it’s already week three of this challenge! Really, how does time fly by so quickly? I had better get to work figuring out the finishing touches on that medial wall!
Today I thought I’d touch base with y’all concerning some of the key pieces of decor in the space. Things that I think will make the biggest impact to the overall feel of the room, like art, textiles, hardware, and lighting.
I’ve grown tired of our polished nickel and capiz curtain rods, and since I plan to change out our current light with one from our wonderful sponsor Hudson Valley Lighting Group, I thought it would be nice to follow that with another change to match. Something simple, and something cost effective. Of course I ended up checking off both boxes after finding these from Project 62 at Target. The brass is beautiful, and I am itching to get them put up sometime this week!
I shared some art on my inspiration board that is similar to pieces I already own, but recently I came across this sketch at an antique mall that I’d like to incorporate into the decor somehow. I love finding beauties like this, especially when they are on sale, and already marked down considerably.
I came across an Etsy shop called Tshaj that sells beautiful textiles for very reasonable prices if you consider buying similar pieces from some other well known shops. The shipping was quick and pieces come in perfect condition. Our couch is going to look sooo good with these on it!
For the bench seat, I’m partnering up with our sponsor Loom & Decor to create a large lumbar pillow to dress up the space. They have a huge variety of fabrics and designs to choose from, and I found the perfect one for this room. The Farm to Table-Ash design can span many genres and with the way I switch things up I think it’s perfect to stay in this space through it all. You can also customize drapes, shades, bedding and outdoor pieces through them. You need to click over to see everything they are offering! I’m so excited to be working with them on this!
Have you ever heard of Boutique Rugs? They have some of the most up-to-date style of rugs, and at amazing prices. Click on over to see what their sale is today!
Ah, and now to our new light from Hudson Valley Lighting Group. I am anxiously anticipating its arrival! When I was browsing the website, I was in awe of every last piece they offer. They offer so many different styles of lighting! You can tell just by the photos that they are all quality pieces, and would make any room shine (pun intended). We currently have a capiz style chandelier, but as I mentioned above, I truly want this space to be more streamlined and modern without losing the elegance that seems to always find its way into my designs. The BRIGITTE comes in three different finishes, but my favorite is the aged brass finish. I like to mix metals in my house, mostly brass and polished nickel, but I’ve been drawn to black recently, and am looking for a way to incorporate the third finish somehow.
Check back with us next week for more updates on the progress of this makeover, and in the meantime, be sure to click over to my fellow challenge participants to see how their spaces are coming along.
