Simple Holiday Kitchen Decor
Hello again, friends! Y’all know that I fell a bit behind in my fall decorating, and since time seems to fly by I decided to get all of our Christmas decorating done ASAP.
Y’all saw our dining room the other day, and today I’m sharing a peek into our kitchen. This is another space that we’ve made over, but I’ve been too lazy to pull everything together to create a blog post on. I promise I’ll get to it soon. Soon as in the new year. Ha! Like the dining room, we still have to install the hardware, so once we get that done we will most likely have it ready to share on the blog.
Tour our holiday dining room here!
I won’t lie, I have a pile of dishes to the left of this picture, and the countertop is piled with random kitchen junk I have to put away, but I wanted to share our simple decor in here so badly that I worked around it. I’ll clean it up once all the festivities are over. Like the rest of our decor, it’s all pretty simple. When we were hinging up the wreaths in the dining room, we had one small wreath leftover, and I joked that it should be hung from our hood instead. Of course the jokes on me, because it looks so darn cute here hung with the ribbon, so we kept it!
We decided to bake some cookies while I was photographing, so you can see that process play out a bit. Ah, what fun! Some of my favorite childhood memories are off standing on a chair next to my grandparents in our tiny galley kitchen, while they baked tons of delicious goodies from scratch and let me help. I wish I had held on to some of those memories a bit more vividly, because I’m pretty much a ready to bake sort of girl. Unwrap, arrange, and place in the oven. It’s so simple, but now that my son is getting interested in hanging out with us around the kitchen, I think I’ll try my hand at some homemade recipes so he can share in the fun that I remember having.
I added another small tree to the island, along with some holiday appropriate hand towels, and candy canes displayed along the rim of a pitcher. It does the job!
You can see how this space plays off the dining room decor in the picture below. I love it!
We always hang an apron in this space, so I switched our normal one out for this more festive red one.
The cookies are ready! Yum!
I hope y’all enjoyed this mini tour of our kitchen! Even though I decorated it a bit, as I referenced above, it’s the memories made with the ones you love that really stick, so don’t stress this season if you aren’t prepared, or can’t decorate. It’s just stuff. Make those memories and be happy no matter what!
Until next time!
