New Year, Big Changes!
Hey there friends! Can you believe it? It’s 2016I This past year has been full of trials, and triumphs, all of which lead me to exactly where I needed to be. Of course, during a lot of those trials I had to call upon my faith to see me through, and though I may have questioned God’s plans for me many times, I have come to realize that He does not lead me anywhere I am not supposed to be. That being said, I am hoping this new year comes with less trials and more peace!
I do want to thank you all for supporting me and bringing some sunshine into my life, especially when I felt a bit hopeless. I know I never really went into much detail about taking care of my grandpa, and his personal care, but it was hands down the hardest challenge I had to face in 2015. Being able to come to my blog and share the nicer and more exciting parts of my life with y’all really gave me a boost, so thank you for supporting me and my blog as much as you have. It has been greatly appreciated.
So what do I have in plan for the new year, you ask? Well, I have a big change coming up in the near future, but I want to make sure I do it right, so I am taking my time with it. I’d say expect to see it done before the end of January though. Can you guess what it is? Hint: It might have to do with the name you see on the page. Haha! I’ll fill you in a bit more in an upcoming post, because right now I want to talk more about what I hope to accomplish this year with my blog.
I’ve been so lucky to have met many great and talented bloggers, all lending me support and information, so I truly hope to be able to show them more attention than I was able to this past year. After all, I don’t think I really understood blogging before meeting them. It was more of a hobby with no direction until they lent me their knowledge. Thanks to them, I have been afforded great opportunities to participate in many blog hops, craft challenges, and link parties, all of which I hope to continue with in the new year. Also, it’s really nice to know people that do what you do, and are willing to be open and honest, and above all supportive of your ventures. It’s a rare quality that I have found amongst the bloggers I’ve met, and Instagrammers too!
I want to delve more into my ideas on decorating this year. I realize I show decorated rooms as I finish them, but I never really felt like I explained my process well enough to show you how to do it yourself. I think I could have even been more informative with my One Room Challenge posts if I had more time to put together my posts. I’m thinking a weekly decorating series touching on different decor topics might be nice. If you happen to have any in mind that you’d like for me to cover, please let me know in the comments, and I’ll do my best to pull a post together for you.
Of course, things are constantly changing here at the Watts house. We are currently mid-construction in our kitchen remodel. I plan to share more on that with you all soon as well, so be sure to check in with us about that. I have a few other rooms I’d like to transform as well. The dining room will be getting a new look and hopefully our entryway will too, but how soon, I do not know. It’ll all depend on finances, and of course if I can actually make up my mind on what I really want/need for the space.
I’m also thinking of doing a photo series to document my photography, since I’m challenging myself to grow more in that department. The subjects will vary, and I hope to share a bit of info on how I took the photo and edited it with y’all as well.
And now for some really great news! I recently got word that I have been accepted into the Wayfair Homemakers Program! I have been a fan of Wayfair and their products for quite some time, so to have an opportunity to work with them is a dream come true! As I learn more about what I’ll be doing with them, I will share it with you too.
So here’s to a wonderful outlook on a beautiful new year! I can’t wait to get started on all of the projects I have planned to share with y’all! I hope you like them, and of course, if you have any suggestions about anything new you’d like to see, or anything you like to see more of, please drop me a note in the comments.
Happy New Year, friends!
